Thousands of supporters of presidential candidate loser Iran's world-Hossein Mousavi came to protest in Tehran, the Agency France Presse. They refuse to recognize the election of current head of state Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Former Prime Minister of Iran's world-Hossein Mousavi, the official, took second place in the elections, gaining 33.75 percent of votes (for Ahmadinejad voted 62.63 percent of voters). His supporters at a rally in the center of the Iranian capital chanting: "Down with the dictator!" and even "Death to the dictator!"
Sam Mousavi previously stated, based on preliminary data of its staff, on his election victory.
Another loser candidate, Mehdi Karubi, had already called the election results "illegal and unacceptable."
Meanwhile, Iran's Interior Minister Sadeq Masuli has confirmed the victory of Ahmadinejad, and stressed that any announcement of the election results have no legal effect. The spiritual leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has congratulated the incumbent president to re-election and declared that his victory - a "real holiday".
