Austrian police have arrested six people suspected of involvement in the murder of Umar Israilova, a former bodyguard of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. As reported by AFP, referring to the prosecutor's office, all those arrested were born in the Chechen republic.
Specified that the arrests were made the morning of Wednesday, January 28, in four different regions of the country.
Israilov Umar was shot dead on a street in Vienna on 13 January 2009. As previously reported, the man had been convicted in Russia for involvement in illegal bandit formations, and after his release under an amnesty has become a bodyguard Kadyrova. Several years ago Israilov went abroad and obtained political asylum in Austria.
Already being abroad, a former bodyguard of Chechen president spoke about the kidnapping, which he said were committed on the orders of Kadyrov. In addition, he filed with the Strasbourg court on harassment, which allegedly subjected himself.
The next day after the murder Israilova Austrian police arrested a man allegedly involved in this crime. Possible motives for the killing of yet nothing is known. Representatives of the Austrian authorities announced that they have information that Israilova killed for political reasons, but no concrete evidence of this has not yet been found.
