Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire in Gaza.

Olmert said that the ceasefire will begin at 2:00 am local time (3:00 Moscow). According to the prime minister, in the course of "Operation Cast lead" the Israeli army has fulfilled all of its objectives.
Earlier, Hamas had already said that would not support a unilateral cease-fire by Israel, as it does not provide for the withdrawal of troops from Gaza. Hamas is going to continue attacks on IDF units and Israeli territory.
The operation in Gaza began on 27 December, and January 3, entered into a ground phase. During the operation against the Islamist movement Hamas, were killed over 1200 people, including more than 400 children. The loss of Israel for the same period of ten soldiers and three civilians.
