The son of the dictator of Liberia, was sentenced in U.S. for 97 years in prison.

U.S. Federal Court in Miami on 9 January sentenced the son of former Liberian President Charles Taylor to 97 years in prison, reports AFP.

The son of the President of Liberia - "Chuckie" Taylor ( "Chuckie" Taylor) - in the years 1997-2003, when his father was in power, led the anti-terrorist unit. In October 2008 a federal court found the 31-year-old "Chuckie" Taylor, born in Boston and a U.S. citizen, guilty of involvement in the torture and murder committed by members of the anti-terrorism unit, which he headed.

"Chuckie" Taylor, whose full name of Charles McArthur Emmanuel Taylor, was taken into custody in March 2006 while trying to enter the U.S. from Trinidad. Then he was only charged with passport forgery, for which he pleaded guilty. In December 2006 the Federal Court showed Taylor Jr. accused of torture.

Father "Chuckie" Taylor - Charles Taylor - has become the first African head of state, appeared before the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Taylor is charged with 11 puntkam war crimes and crimes against humanity. Taylor's trial began in June 2006.
