Spanish police seized 4 tons of cocaine.

On the northwest coast of Spain on 12 January police seized 4 tons of cocaine and detained one suspect, said AFP.
The group of smugglers had been caught flat-footed when unloading drugs from a boat on the beach near the town of Ribeyra. When approaching the criminals set fire to a police boat and rushed to escape.
According to police, the only detainee is a member of a major drug trafficking network.
It is noted that most of the drugs, which come from South America to Europe, carrying it through Spain. In 2008, Spanish police have seized 21.8 tons of cocaine in 2007 - 25 tons.
