UAE authorities have banned the use of Antonov AN-12.

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates banned the flights of An-12 Russian-made over the country. This January 12, said The National.
UAE authorities have attributed the ban on security grounds. In recent times, the An-12 are often caught in the accident.
In the United Arab Emirates AN-12 uses six small companies-carriers. Their leadership fears that a flight ban on An-12 would exacerbate the global financial crisis caused by the difficulties and lead to the dismissal of many workers.
Accidents AN-12 took place in the Sharjah emirate 2 and 6 January 2009, as well as 24 October 2008. In November 2008, seven people died as a result of the collapse of the An-12 in Iraq. The use of AN-12 is already banned in Iran and Sudan.
