The U.S. State Department imposed sanctions against 13 individuals and three companies for cooperating with the "father" of Pakistan's nuclear bomb, nuclear scientist Abdul Qadir Khan (Abdul Qadeer Khan), reports Reuters.
As a State Department report, which quoted the agency, said that these sanctions will help to prevent the illegal distribution practices in the field of nuclear weapons.
Among the 13 people got himself Abdul Qadeer Khan. However, the nature of the sanctions is not reported.
Khan was the leader of Pakistan's nuclear program since 1976. In 1998, under his leadership in Pakistan was first tested a nuclear bomb. In 2004, a scientist came under house arrest in connection with the statements that he would pass on information about nuclear development by Iran, Libya and North Korea.
Later, Khan dismissed his words on the transfer of technology to these countries to develop nuclear weapons. According to him, to make this statement it had forced the President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf.
In July 2007 the scientist released from house arrest in connection with the fact that he suffers from cancer.
