Synod of the Anglican Church on Tuesday banned a majority vote of the representatives of the clergy to engage in far-right British National Party (BNP).
As the Agency France Presse, 322 delegate votes for such an initiative, 13 - against, 20 abstained. For such a ban supported, among others, two senior Anglican dignitaries - the head of the church, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and Archbishop of York John Sentamu.
In November, remember the internet has a list of names, occupations, and numbers about 12 thousand people who are active members of the BNP. Five people from the list, according to the specified profession, were clergymen. Subsequently, however, the Anglican church has denied this, noting that none of the list was not the actions of the clergy.
