Mass protests and street riots erupted in many cities of Pakistan after the February 25 Supreme Court banned the country's opposition leader Nawaz Sharif to hold elective office, effectively blocking his deputies, reports AFP.
Likewise, the Supreme Court was dismissed by the brother Nazava Sharif - Sharif Shabazz, who has served as Head of Government of Punjab.
Protest marches were held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and other cities. Advocates led by Sharif, one of the factions of the opposition party Pakistan Muslim League blocked a few lines of traffic in different parts of the country. Police used tear gas against protesters.
The demonstrators accused the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari is that through a court decision, it spread to the opposition leaders. In Kashmir, protesters chanted "murderer of democracy Zardari!" vomiting, and his portraits.
Caused by natural disturbances decision of the Supreme Court confirmed the ruling of the court of Lahore, announced in 2008.
