Bulgaria named its candidate to head NATO.

The official candidate for the post of head of NATO was the former Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy of the (Solomon Passy), informs AFP referring to the press service of the Government.
The current Secretary General of NATO Dutchman Jaap de Hoop Scheffer will leave his post in May. Name new head of the alliance will be announced at the NATO summit to be held April 3-4.
Solomon Passy, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry headed from 2001 to 2005. In 2004 he was chairman of the OSCE. In the early 1990's created Pasi Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, who lobbied for the country joining NATO.
Bulgaria became a member of the North Atlantic alliance in 2004.
