China began to develop a national plan for the protection of human rights.

China began to develop the first-ever national plan for human rights, transfer agency AFP, referring to a statement by the representative of China at the UN Baodonga Li (Li Baodong).

The plan will identify specific tasks in the field of human rights for each of the ministries and departments. The development of the plan involved some 50 government agencies.

Recall that China has been criticized by non-governmental human rights organizations and Western countries for human rights violations and persecution of human rights defenders.

In particular, the actions of Chinese authorities to suppress unrest in Tibet in 2008 caused a wave of protests around the world.

According to the AFP, in 2009, China will get the so-called world-wide periodic assessment (Universal Periodic Review) to respect human rights. Every four years, it passes each of the 192 UN states.
