Historian found in Germany, hundreds named in honor of the Nazi schools.

German historian Geralf Gemser (Geralf Gemser) found that some German schools still bear the names of the Nazis. This February 5, writes the magazine Der Spiegel.
Undertaken Gemserom study showed that, for example, of two thousand schools federal Saxony eight named in honor of members of the Nazi party in honor of three members of the CA and one - in honor of SS members. In general, in the country there are hundreds of schools that bear the names of the Nazis.
Even in Berlin, one of the schools until recently, was addressed to General Wehrmacht Erich Gepnera (which, incidentally, was executed in 1944 on charges of conspiring against Adolf Hitler). When Gemser made against the school name in honor of Gepnera, school renamed in honor of a Jewish collector and art dealer Heinz Berggruen.
When Gemsera study was published, many German politicians and public figures were in favor of renaming schools. In particular, the institutions offer to assign the names of the victims of the Nazi regime. However, some analysts argue that among the Nazis, in honor of identified schools were important figures of science, literature, medicine and other areas. According to analysts, these people do not have to judge by their political activities.
