Karzai, the Taliban called home.

President of Afghanistan on Sunday called on supporters of the Taliban movement for reconciliation, reports AFP. Hamid Karzai invited Taliban who are not affiliated with Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups, to return home and maintain a "normal life".
"Now is the time when I think fit to call for the start of the reconciliation process," - Karzai said at an international conference on security in Munich. The call is addressed to the President so the Taliban, who "want to live in accordance with the constitution of Afghanistan and wanted in their country will be peace."
According to the Associated Press, Karzai also appealed to the international community to assist in efforts to establish contacts with the Taliban, which he believes the only way to establish the situation in the country.
Hamid Karzai, who became president of Afghanistan in 2002, has repeatedly advocated negotiations with the Taliban, but the Islamists rejected those initiatives. The Taliban who ruled Afghanistan until 2001, was ransacked by Americans and their allies after the attacks of September 11, but later re-gained momentum and has been active in the territory of Afghanistan and in neighboring areas of Pakistan.
