Tajikistan, NATO will provide its airspace.

KommentariiGoodbye, Manas 04.02.2009Kirgiziya "sold" the American base for 2 billion dollarovTadzhikistan agreed to provide its airspace, NATO planes to transport non-military goods to Afghanistan, the agency transmits Reuters referring to the statement by U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan tracks JACOBSON Ann (Tracey Ann Jacobson).

According to JACOBSON, agreement is extremely important, given the intention of the North Atlantic alliance in 2009 to increase the size of its military contingent in Afghanistan.

In addition, as noted by Reuters, NATO faces the need to find new ways to supply troops in Afghanistan after the announced closure of the Kyrgyz Republic is located in its territory the U.S. airbase Manas.

The U.S. also intends to discuss the opening of a single railway line to supply a contingent of Afghan Uzbek. Finally, the U.S. does not exclude the possibility to stay at the "Manas", and intend to hold talks with Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
