KommentariiLichnaya nepriyazn30.01.2009Protivostoyanie politicians in Madagascar has led to massive riots 23 people were killed in the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo, after government troops opened fire on members of opposition demonstrations at the Presidential Palace, CNN reported on 7 February. Another 83 people were injured.
The protest was directed against the resignation of Mayor Antanarivu Andri Razhueliny - relevant Government decision was taken on 3 February. Cam Razhuelina called the decision on his resignation illegal.
The events were preceded on 31 January attempted coup, when Razhuelina proclaimed himself the new ruler of the country. The mayor of Antananarivo, explained these steps so that the President of Madagascar Marc Ravalomanana, in his opinion, failed in their responsibilities.
Unrest in Madagascar began January 26 when the opposition led by Razhuelinoy tried to take over state television and radio in Antananarivo, in response to government action, which shut down a radio station belonging to the mayor (previously also been closed under control and channel it to).
 According to official figures, during the unrest in Madagascar more than 80 people were killed and about 300 were wounded.
