The new Prime Minister of Iceland dismissed the leadership of the Central Bank.

KommentariiKonets excellent epohi28.01.2009Pravitelstvo of Iceland resigned new Prime Minister of Iceland Johanna Sigurdardottir (Johanna Sigurdardottir) on Monday demanded the resignation of three leaders of the Central Bank, reports AFP.
"I demanded that they immediately resigned. A letter I sent to them this afternoon," - said in an interview Sigurdardottir Icelandic State Radio.
Recall the previous government headed by Iceland, the Icelandic Independence Party leader Geir Haarde on 26 January in full force resigned. It was preceded by anti-government demonstrations in Reykjavík, which degenerated into riots and clashes with police.
B Iceland many believe that the leadership of the Central Bank and, in particular its director, David Oddson, is responsible for the fact that the country was unprepared for the global financial crisis. Oddson also is a member of the Icelandic Independence Party. C 1991 to 2004 he served as Prime Minister of Iceland, and has established itself as a consistent supporter of liberalizing the economy.
