Barcelona City Police arrested 10 Pakistanis suspected of having links with terrorist organizations, said Heraldo. Warrants were issued by the State Court of Spain.
Arrests made in the special operation to prevent terrorist acts. Pakistanis also charged with forgery.
All the arrests took place in the Raval district, where now on duty reinforced police outfits.
It is anticipated that these will soon be special and in other cities in Spain.
In March 2004, Islamic terrorists from al-Qaida carried out 10 bombings in the "peak hours" at various railway stations in Madrid. As a result of the terrorist attacks killed 191 people and about two thousand were injured. In the past three days after explosions elections the ruling Popular Party lost the socialists.
