Turkey recalled its ambassador to Canada in connection with activities on a five-year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide recognition Ottawa. It writes the newspaper The Globe and Mail, the ceremony was attended by members of the Canadian Government that has caused concern in Ankara.
In the Turkish capital, confirmed the ambassador to return home, but declined to officially clarify the reasons for this decision, the Associated Press.
The Canadian Parliament recognized the massacre of the Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire as genocide in 2004. Turkey objects to the definition of "genocide", claiming that the deaths of innocent people occurred as a result of fighting between the regular army and the Armenian rebels.
In 2006, Ankara had already withdrew its ambassador in Ottawa, with similar circumstances.
