The European Court of Human Rights has ordered Russia to pay a number of residents of Chechnya, a total of 577 thousand euros for the deaths and disappearance of their relatives. On this April 23, RIA Novosti reported.
Russia has lost in Strasbourg, just five cases, facilities for claims of Chechens. All the plaintiffs lost their relatives in 2001-2004, when the regime in Chechnya, counter-terrorism operations. Strasbourg Court has recognized that the Chechens, as described in the two criminal cases have been kidnapped by Russian soldiers. Figures of three cases, as the judge found, the Russian army soldiers were killed. Thus, Russia found guilty of violating the norms of the European Convention on Human Rights. The composition of the sum of the Russian Federation is obliged to pay the plaintiffs, was the compensation for moral injury, property damage and legal costs. The court decision can be challenged within three months.
