Workers released a French plant of top managers after two days.

KommentariiObratnaya tyaga31.03.2009Borba to the crisis led to protest actions of disaffected rabochihV city Villemyur-sur-Tarn in southern France, the workers of the plant for the production company Molex Automotive released two top managers of the company, which held over two days, the Associated Press April 21.
In protest against the plans of the company's management to close the plant was attended by about 50 people. They locked up a member of the Board of Directors Keryu Marcus (Marcus Kerriou) and Head of Staff Colin Kolbok (Coline Colboc) in the office and kept them as hostages to ensure the lifting of massive cuts.
Top managers, however, flatly refused to discuss with the workers anything until they are released. The company has previously filed a lawsuit against the organizers of the illegal retention Keryu and Kolbok. Free top managers succeeded only after the court of Toulouse was caused by the trade union representative Denis Paris (Denis Parise).
In October 2008, Molex announced that it plans to close plant in France and move production to China and the United States. In accordance with this plan in Villemyur-sur-Tarn work will lose about 300 people. Stop production at the plant must take place already on 30 June. Molex, whose headquarters is located in the United States, a major manufacturer of electronic components of automobiles.
The taking hostage of representatives of the companies, known as the "bossnepping" France has become a popular method of struggle of working for their rights. During March and April 2009 incidents took place at French factories of 3M, Sony, Caterpillar, and Scapa.
Under French law, for unlawful detention, which lasted less than a week, faces up to five years imprisonment and a fine of 75 thousand euro. In practice, however, with respect to workers seized their superiors, such judgments have not recently made.
