Since April 10, in Dubai emirate will run buses that are intended only for women, said Gulfnews Dubai with reference to road transport agency. According to the Dubaicityguide, a fleet of 7 vehicles, which is scheduled to expand in the future, will work from 6:30 to 9:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
According to the agency, Mohammed Abu Bakar Al-Hashimi, the decision was preceded by an analysis of passenger traffic that shows routes, where demand for such services was greatest.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai is different from many other Arab countries to a large degree of freedom for women. In 2006, the ruler of the emirate was established Office of Women's Affairs, whose main task is proclaimed the deepening integration of residents of the country's public life, and in 2009 for the first time in the history of Dubai has been appointed a woman judge.
The government of Dubai is not the first to introduce traffic intended only for women. In 2008, in order to protect the inhabitants of Mexico City from the molestation of men in the peak hours of power the Mexican capital have entered the flights landing at which they had been authorized only for the female. These bus routes also exist in India, Japan, Brazil and other countries.
