Indian Maoists seized a train with 700 passengers.

To the east of India in the state Dzharkhand (Jharkhand) Maoist rebels have seized a train, carrying 700 to 800 passengers. Writes newspaper The Times of India, the attack happened about seven o'clock in the morning (around 04:30 Moscow time).
According to preliminary data, about 200 militants detained at a train station Latehar (Latehar). The police claimed that the hostages had not threatened. To the scene arrived four helicopters Railway Protection Force (Railway Protection Force) and were sent additional reinforcements. A few hours later, militants released the hostages, the newspaper The Indian Express.
Maoists attack was timed to the second round of parliamentary elections which the Maoists have vowed to disrupt. Militants carried out several terrorist attacks in the neighboring state of Bihar Dzharkhandom. They killed a truck driver, burned several cars and blew up a rural administration.
Elections in the Indian parliament, which is attended by over 700 million people. Voting began April 16 and the results will be known May 16.
Committed capture train militants belong to the Maoist faction naksalitov, which is struggling against the authorities for three decades. Naksalitov groups operate mainly in rural areas and need to provide the land and the work of laborers and the poor.
The militants do not communicate directly with the media, but instead to send pamphlets and their statements in newspapers, like Associated Press.
