The protests in two major Greek cities began after law enforcement officers shot and killed a teenager in Athens, 15-16 years old, who took part in the attack on a police patrol. Dissatisfied residents of Thessaloniki and Athens took to the streets and staged pogroms.
The police suspected of murdering teenager has been arrested. They are formally charged.
