Russian companies are more likely to offer bribes when doing business abroad, concluded the researchers international agency Transparency International. In the rating by the agency, Russia fell to the last 22 th place after China and Mexico. In ranking these countries were 5.9, 6.5 and 6.6 points respectively.
In preparing the ratings used statistical data and the results of interviews with senior executives from different countries, leading their business abroad. The maximum score in the rating is 10 points. The lowest point exhibited the countries whose companies often offer bribes to all.
Less vzyatkam resorted to all Belgian companies. Belgium and Canada took first place in the ranking with a 8.8 score. Slightly worse was the situation with bribery in the Netherlands. The country received 8.7 points. In the top ten also included Switzerland, Germany, Britain, Japan, Australia, France, Singapore and the United States.
At the end of September 2008, the Russian Fund for Public Opinion conducted a study on the frequency of bribery in Russia. The study found that 29 percent of Russians at least once in bribes. It is one of those who never did, 44 percent admit such a possibility. Among the entrepreneurs share of bribes amounted to 56 percent.
According to the fund, 54 percent of Russians do not condemn those who take bribes. It is the greatest tolerance of the corrupted are Muscovites - 63 per cent of residents of the capital. Condemn the corrupted 37 percent of Russians.
