The authorities in Israel are not allowed into the country by Professor Richard Falk, who in March 2008, the UN appointed to examine human rights in the Palestinian territories. The morning of Monday, 15 December, it put on a plane flying from Israel, said the newspaper Haaretz.
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni as early as September, said that the authorities will not allow the host country Falk, a Jew by origin. The decision was taken due to the fact that in his article "crawling toward a Palestinian Holocaust" (Slouching toward a Palestinian Holocaust), published in June 2007, Falk has compared Israeli actions in the territory of the Palestinian Authority with a policy of genocide by Nazi Germany.
The Government believed that in their speeches Falk exaggerates human rights violations by Israel, and, conversely, turned a blind eye to similar actions by the Palestinians.
The Center for Protection of the Rights of the Arab minority in Israel, "Adala", with which the Falk had held a meeting, sent a letter to the Minister of Internal Affairs Meiru Shitritu and government legal adviser Menachem Mazuzu. In a letter decision to expel Falk out of the country was identified as a violation of Palestinian rights to protection by international organizations.
