Recent South Korean troops have left Iraq.

The last 600 soldiers of South Korea, served on the base near the city of Irbil in northern Iraq, returned home, reports BBC News.
South Korea has introduced its troops in Iraq in 2004 at the request of its strategic partner - the United States. The initial number of troops amounted to 3.6 thousand. Korean soldiers are involved, mainly the construction and rehabilitation of destroyed buildings in the northern part of the country.
In early 2008, the South Korean Government has decided to withdraw the troops by the end of the year. December 1, was officially announced the completion Military Mission.
