Czech Republic stopped issuing work visas for Ukrainians and Moldovans.

Czech Republic has suspended the issuance of work and business visas for citizens of Moldova, Ukraine, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. Reported agency AFP. Embassies in these states will not accept requests for a visa in a few weeks.
In the Czech Republic stressed that the ban will not affect those who come into the country with tourist purposes, or those who filed an application for a work visa before.
The decision of the Government of the Czech Republic is due to a desire to reduce the influx of cheap labor in a downturn in the economy and rising unemployment. Czech companies during the crisis, often prefer to use local workers, leaving the migrants arriving without a salary.
In February, the Czech government has already offered to all immigrants who want to return to their homeland, and pay 500 euro ticket. By mid-March the proposal used the 738 foreigners, of whom 550 were from Mongolia.
According to official statistics, in the Czech Republic in October formally employed more than 290 thousands of migrants, but at the end of January - already 272 thousand. The level of unemployment in the country amounted to 7.4 percent in February. For comparison, a year earlier, the indicator did not exceed 5.9 percent, notes Reuters.
