The kidnappers released a former leader of Bosnian Croats.

Former co Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ante Jelavic (Ante Jelavic) still at large, said on the night of Friday, AFP, referring to the Croatian media. Jelavić, they reported on Thursday late evening, telephoned their relatives and the police, informing them that the kidnappers released him.

April 9, Croatian media reported that Jelavić kidnapped in Zagreb. For his release the kidnappers contact the family Jelavic by telephone, demanded a ransom of one million dollars. According to Croatian television, the call took place with the Bosnian telephone number.
Officially, law enforcement authorities of Croatia on the abduction Jelavic confirmed nor refuted.

Ante Jelavic has served as co Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Croats until 2001. He was dismissed because of attempts to organize on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian autonomy. Following the resignation of Jelavić fled Bosnia and moved to Croatia.
In October 2005, the Bosnian court, which Jelavić not present, found him guilty of corruption and sentenced to 10 years in prison. In July 2006 the sentence was quashed, and for Jelavic residing in the territory of Croatia, launched a new investigation
