U.S. Losses in Iraq in March were a record low.

In March 2009, the loss of American troops in Iraq have become a record low in the history of the campaign. This was reported on the official site with information about those killed and injured in Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers.
During the march in Iraq killed eight American soldiers, with the death of four of them were not related to the actions of the enemy. Others were killed in the fighting.

The largest loss of American troops occurred in November 2004 (137 dead), April 2004 (135 dead) and May 2007 (126 people). Only time, started in 2003, operations in Iraq were killed 4262 American soldiers.
According to a ruling on United States President Barack Obama plan, an American operation in Iraq will end by August 2010. The withdrawal will be gradual: in the next six months, the contingent will be reduced to 12 thousand people. Currently in Iraq there are about 140 thousand American troops.
