Special Kazakhstan deny its involvement in the spy scandal in Austria.

Tuesday, February 17, edition of the Austrian Der Standard has reported that last week (exact date not specified) in Austria have arrested two policemen. They suspected that the Kazakh intelligence passed information about Rakhat Aliyev, the former Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria. Both police officers already admitted guilt. The police used their official access to a computer database of police EKIS.
We remind the authorities of Kazakhstan, unsuccessfully sought the extradition from Austria Rahat Aliyev. In 2008, Aliev was sentenced in absentia Kazakh court for a total of 40 years' imprisonment. He was charged with preparing a coup d'état, divulging state secrets, and kidnapping. Aliyev, now lives in Vienna.
