Eight-old girl received a divorce from the third attempt.

In Saudi Arabia, with a third attempt succeeded in divorce 8-year-old girl and 50-year-old man. Agreement reached on the divorce petition of the child's mother out of court, reports The Times. Earlier, during the two trials, the marriage was declared legal.
The girl was given to marry the father, because he had no money to pay the debt of his future brother-in-law. And neither the "bride", nor her mother were informed that between the child and the creditor to marry.
The mother twice tried to obtain a divorce in court. But both times the judge refused to annul the marriage, justifying its decision that the divorce could not be done on the suit mother. The judge promised to revisit the issue after a female puberty. Until that time, couples should not engage in marital relations.
The case received wide attention in the country, consulting with the Board of the King of Saudi Arabia (shura) has initiated a discussion on increasing the minimum duration of marriage to 18 years. However, it is not yet clear whether a decision has been reached, in what form and in what time frame.
The role of a constitution in Saudi Arabia is the Koran and the law based on Islamic law. Since the state is not secular, marriage can only be religious. In early 2009, the spiritual leader of country's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Shaykh explained that Islamic law does not prohibit marry girls under the age of 15.
