In Egypt, have been mass arrests of people from the North Caucasus.

At least 35 Russian citizens detained by Egyptian authorities. According to the second secretary of the Russian Embassy in Cairo Timura Agametova, the detention was carried out in rough form, "the agency" Interfax ".
The detainees were born in the North Caucasus region, who were trained in the Egyptian Al-Azhar University. The incident occurred on the night of May 27. According to Agametova, local authorities claim that all the detentions were made during the verification of documents relating to residence permits in Egypt.
Russian diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt sent a note demanding an explanation. Agametov also noted that the staff of the Russian consulate has failed to meet with detainees. He stressed that among the detainees are children, including infants who were taken into custody with their mothers.
In the Russian embassy added that the number of detainees were not final and will be refined. According to the site Ingushetiya.Org, with a series of arrests that began even on Sunday, May 24, were arrested 198 people - citizens of Russia and CIS countries. In particular, it is noted that among the 73 detainees was born in Chechnya, 12 Dagestanis, 10 Ingushetians and four residents of Tatarstan. Also detained citizens of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
In the Russian Federation Ministry of Education stated that the University of Al-Azhar really learn Russian citizens. "But it is their own choice, and they came to school without the participation of Russian entities", - stressed in the Ministry.
Al-Azhar University is one of the oldest in the world and mainly the world's center of Sunni Islamic study. It was founded in 975 during the same year, the Cairo mosque.
