In Iraq, set a date of general elections.

The next general elections in Iraq held on 30 January 2010, said Deputy Parliament Speaker Khalid al-Attiyah (Khalid al-Attiyah). That was reported by AP.
The date of elections appointed Federal Court of Iraq. Al-Attiyah said that the vote will take place a month later than originally planned. Previous general elections were held in the country in December 2005 but the first session of the newly elected parliament took place only in March 2006.
Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Iraq Faraj al-Haidari (Faraj al-Haidari) reported that the court to choose between two proposed dates - 30 January 2010 and November 15, 2009.
For security during the elections would be chief U.S. forces in Iraq, General Raymond Odierno (Raymond Odierno) and other representatives of the Pentagon. It was expected that a significant portion of 138 thousand U.S. soldiers in Iraq, will remain in the country before the vote.
By 30 June, U.S. troops must be fully relocate to the military bases located outside the urban areas of Iraq. Under the agreement, signed by the authorities of the United States and Iraq, the last American soldier leaves the country before the end of 2011.
