German Jews boycotted the official ceremony for Holocaust Remembrance.

Representatives of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, refused to attend the official ceremony of the Victims of the Holocaust. The ceremony was held January 27 in the lower house of German parliament. That was reported by AFP.
According to one of the leaders of the Central Council of Jews Stephan Kramer (Stephan Kramer), the cause of the boycott was the lack of proper attention by the German authorities to anti-Semitism in the country.
"In a society ever increasing hostility towards the Jews. Since the start of the bombardment of the Gaza Strip, we have to get more threatening letters. In every tenth letter to members of the Central Council of Jews threatened with death" - said Kramer.
The opening ceremony of Holocaust Remembrance attended German President Horst Koehler, who delivered the main speech, and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
There are currently living in Germany, about 110 thousand Jews, most of whom are immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
Holocaust Remembrance Day is held in the European Union, January 27 - the anniversary of the liberation of prisoners of Auschwitz concentration camp by Soviet troops in 1945.
