Leaders of the Greek trade unions refused to cancel a national strike, despite a request from the Government, reported CNN. They alleged that 24-hour event was set for Wednesday, 10 December, even before the riots in major cities of Greece.

On Tuesday, clashes between protesters and police in Greece continued. Ten thousand people staged a protest outside parliament. Thus, they expressed their anger over the death of 15-year-old Greek Alexandros Grigoropulosa, who on Saturday shot dead a policeman. After the death of the young men in Athens and Thessaloniki began mass disobedience.
Greek opposition leader George Papandreou on Dec. 9 called on the Government had to resign. In his view, it has exhausted credit of trust, as it will not be able to ensure the safety of its citizens.
