France acknowledged his involvement in the Holocaust.

Administrative Court recognized the government of France Vichy regime responsible for the deportation of thousands of Jews in German concentration camps during World War II, reports The Washington Post.
According to the court during the reign of the Vichy regime from 1942 to 1944 years in the camp were deported 76 thousand Jews. The decision was official recognition of the involvement of the French government of the Second World War to the Holocaust.
Long time, the topic remained taboo in France. The Vichy regime, existed on the date of Paris by German troops in 1940 to the liberation of the Allies in 1944, officially a policy of neutrality. However, many government leaders openly called for cooperation with the Nazis, while others are covertly supported by the French Resistance and were negotiating with representatives of the anti-Hitler coalition.
In 1995, French President Jacques Chirac for the first time publicly announced the fault of government in prosecuting and deporting thousands of Jews.
Since 1945, the Government shall pay compensation to the victims of various kinds during the German occupation.
