Chavez accused the CIA of Iranian riots.

"People take to the streets, some of them die there, snipers, and all of these is the CIA, the European and American imperialists," - said Chavez, who previously expressed support for the current Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
According to the Iranian government media, the demonstrators clashed with Iranian police killed 17 participants of protest actions. At the same time, the opposition claims 150 victims.
Meetings in Tehran and other Iranian cities have begun following the announcement of the results of presidential elections in which Ahmadinejad won, obtaining 63 per cent of the vote. Opposition considered falsification of the results. The authorities have accused Iran of fomenting unrest western secret services. Hugo Chavez was one of the first congratulated Ahmadinejad on his victory.
Representatives of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the aim of the organizers of the riots was the collapse of Iran. Out of the country were sent to two British diplomats, and the British Embassy held a protest, organized by the supporters of Ahmadinejad. There have also been arrested several Western journalists.
It should be noted that on 24 June, representatives of the White House said that the current negotiations on the resumption of diplomatic relations between the United States and Venezuela. However, because of the protests in Iran, the U.S. lifted the previously sent an invitation to Iranian diplomats to celebrate Independence Day on July 4.
