Russia and NATO have agreed on the resumption of military cooperation.

During the meeting, the Council Russia - NATO on the Greek island of Corfu the parties managed to agree on the resumption of military cooperation between Russia and NATO. This is following a meeting at the level of foreign ministers said NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, said AFP.
Russia and NATO suspended cooperation after the war in South Ossetia in August 2008. The countries of the alliance have accused Russia of disproportionate use of force, and from September 2008 bilateral contacts have been suspended.
In late 2008, representatives of the Russian Federation, and NATO have repeatedly stated early resumption of cooperation. The first meeting of the NATO-Russia Council at the level of Foreign Ministers was held in May 2009, but because of dissatisfaction with the Kremlin have led to the alliance staff exercises in Georgia met the Ministers had to be postponed.
Political contacts between Russia and NATO were restored in April 2009. Then in Brussels was held the first meeting of the Russia - NATO at the ambassadorial level after the war in South Ossetia.
