In Baghdad, began to restore the park.

The Iraqi authorities have begun to restore the once popular amusement park, destroyed after the U.S. coalition in 2003. That was reported by Associated Press on Monday, 22 June.
"Park of the Tigris River" (Tigris River complex) area of 150 acres formerly was designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (Frank Lloyd Wright) on the island, north of Baghdad. According to the AP, this is the place to enjoy great popularity among Iraqis, who often dealt a wedding.
Reported that on Monday, 22 June, at the opening ceremony of the construction attended the Iraqi Minister of Tourism Kahtan al-Dzhuburi (Qahtan al-Jubouri). According to the AP, in the restoration of the park involved the American specialists. The project budget is not disclosed.
In early 2009, the U.S. government provided nearly 700 thousand dollars for the conservation of the ruins of Babylon, the ancient city, south of modern Baghdad. In October 2008 the U.S. allocated to local authorities a grant of 13 million dollars to restore the National Museum of Iraq, also injured during the fighting.
