Ignorance of the English language saved the Italian bankers of the crisis.

Minister of Economy and Finance Giulio Tremonti of Italy (Giulio Tremonti) believes that the Italian banking system is less affected by the global financial crisis because of the Italian Bankers few people who speak in English. This was announced on Tuesday, 13 January, France Presse.
  In an interview with the Minister, published in the French newspaper Les Echos, said that perhaps it is because of the fact that English holds a small percentage of Italian financiers, the external borrowing of banks of Italy were minor. "Today, our bankers do not come with a request for assistance to the Government," - added Tremonti.
Note that the greatest losses during the financial crisis suffered by American and European banks, particularly the British.
However, Tremonti explained that this does not mean that the Italian economy, nothing threatening, especially since it started in a recession. For example, in the third quarter of 2008 the GDP of Italy fell to 0.5 percent.
