Pakistan officially confirmed the start of operations against militants.

The Pakistani military confirmed on 8 December formally launching a large-scale operation against Islamist groups, transmits agency Reuters.
Reported that the operation run by Pakistan's secret service. The operation includes arrests and investigations against the leaders and members of illegal armed formations.
On Sunday, December 7, Pakistani special captured one of the camps group Lashkar-e-Tayba, which is guilty of a series of terrorist attacks on 26 November in Mumbai. On Monday it became known that among those arrested was one of the leaders of Islamist Zaki-ur-Rehman Lahvi (Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi), who is the organizer of the terrorist attacks in India.
It is also believed that Lahvi personally involved in recruiting suicide bombing artists - such testimony provided the only terrorists who Indian police managed to capture alive. On Sunday in Kashmir has passed a series of arrests of suspected terrorists.
India and the U.S. suspected Pakistani secret services of involvement in terrorist acts. Reported that Indian authorities have evidence that militants coach specialists from the elite units of the Pakistani army.
India and the U.S. demanded that Islamabad extradite suspects and conduct operations against Lashkar-e-Taibe, the Pakistani government on Saturday gave 48 hours for the start of the operation.
