On Monday at the annual summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) in Doha, the participants expressed unanimous support for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), transmits Agence France-Presse.
"We stress our solidarity with the Sudan and reject the decision of the ICC against President al-Bashir," - says the final declaration of the LAS, which read head Amr Moussa. The Sudanese leader personally involved in the summit.
A warrant for the arrest of al-Bashir was issued on March 4. ICC President of Sudan, accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes during the armed conflict in Darfur. Sudan has refused to obey the decision of the ICC, arguing that as a result of the suppression of unrest in the province in 2003 killed 200 thousand people did not, and not more than ten thousand. Al-Bashir said that a warrant is less than the ink spent on it, and called the actions of the ICC threat to the sovereignty of Sudan.
The President of Sudan was the first acting head of state, which is trying to arrest the ICC. Despite the warrant, in late March, al-Bashir traveled to a foreign tour and has already visited Eritrea and Egypt.
