Artist Dmitry Vrubel, painted a famous graffiti, said he was amazed when they saw a net plot of the wall, which formerly was his drawing. According to him, the removal of copyright was a violation of human figure artists.
Guide Art Gallery East Side Gallery, for its part, stated that all the artists who participated in razrisovke walls were previously notified that their work could be erased during the restoration. Vrubel also was invited to return to Berlin and to draw the same graffiti, highlighted in the East Side Gallery. In addition, the gallery sent him a check for 3 thousand euros as compensation for removal from the wall of graffiti.
Vrubel meanwhile reported that the East Side Gallery is indeed informed him of the planned activities of the wall, but there was only minor cosmetic work. Commenting on the proposal to go back and draw another graffiti artist said that it will have quite a different picture, does not have anything in common with the famous "kiss and Honekkera Brezhnev."

In doing so, the restorers have assured the public that well-known graffiti, painted in 1990 by 118 artists from 22 countries will be saved and restored, with the participation of the authors of the drawings.
