Iranian diplomats for the first time in 30 years, met with representatives of NATO, sends agency AFP.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels and was, as noted, the informal nature. Nothing substantive was discussed.

However, the unnamed representative of NATO said that Iran previously shown interest in cooperation, especially on Afghanistan.

Earlier, Tehran announced the intention to take part in an international conference on Afghanistan, which will be held in The Hague in early April.

According to the AFP, diplomatic contacts between Iran and NATO suspended with the collapse of Shah regime in 1979 and since then no longer renewed.
