The island of Tenerife was left without light.

Island of Tenerife, the largest in the archipelago of the Canary Islands, was completely without electricity, reports AP.
The representative of the Spanish Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that, in all likelihood, this was due to the fact that the plant was hit by lightning, but this is only a preliminary version.
Hospitals and some other institutions - in particular, airport island - run on emergency generators.
Energy are working to restore electricity, but says that it may take several hours.
According to AFP, without energy were 830 thousand inhabitants of Tenerife.
Canary Islands are an autonomous community of Spain. The archipelago is one of the major tourist destinations in the country for a year visit the Canary Islands some 10 million foreigners. Proceeds from the tourist industry accounted for over 30 per cent of GDP islands.
