A Pakistani court has allowed opposition leader to hold elective office.

In Pakistan, the Supreme Court suspended its decision that the opposition leader Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz had no right to hold elective office. On this March 31, said AFP.
The Supreme Court barred Sharif to hold elective office in the summer of 2008. February 25, 2009 the court approved that decision, which the country started the riots. To reassure supporters of Sharif, power was restored on 15 March as a Chief Justice Chaudhry, who was once dismissed Pervez Musharraf. The same day, Sharif ordered to remain under house arrest. He has not complied with this requirement.
The reason for the ban on holding elective posts for Sharif became pronounced his verdict on the events of 1999. Then Sharif, as prime minister of Pakistan, suspected that the commander of Army wants to overthrow Musharraf. Premier dismissed the commander of the post, but he still managed to come to power.
Musharaff, under pressure from the opposition was forced to resign in August 2008. Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, later became president of Pakistan, made his dismissal together. However, after the resignation of Musharraf, opposition among politicians resumed. Supporters of Sharif have argued that the prosecution of former prime minister, organized Zardari, who thus wants to deal with a competitor.
