Brits looking for a means to rescue the last bomber Vulcan.

The UK launched a campaign to raise funds for the maintenance of the bomber Avro Vulcan, writes in the Sunday newspaper The Daily Mail.

Until March 5, organizers of the campaign must collect 500 thousand pounds sterling. This amount is required for maintenance of the last functioning bomber Avro Vulcan.
As a charity to save the Avro Vulcan was attended by Robin Gibb from the group Bee Gees, founder of Virgin Group Richard Brenson, as well as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

British Museum, said organizers of the campaign, managed to collect 50 million dollars to purchase Titian's paintings, which will see several thousand people. Saving bomber requires 10 times fewer resources, and observe its flight will be able to significantly more people indicate they are.

Bombers Avro Vulcan stood by the British military aircraft since the mid 1950's to mid 1980's. Overall, it was built about 140 such planes, until now survived 20 Avro Vulcan, stored in various museums.

As a condition fit to fly, there is only one Avro Vulcan, the restoration of which was spent 7 million pounds - mostly donations of private individuals and companies. In 2007, the aircraft stored at the airport in Lestershir the county, made his first and only flight after restoration.
