Konsrevativnoy Party leader David Cameron said the need for an immediate early general elections in Britain, reports Sky News. Cameron believes that the only re-can restore confidence in the parliament after the scandal broke out about abuses in the reimbursement of Deputies.
Previously, a number of MPs supported the initiative of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Nick Klegga, who invited the speaker of Parliament, Michael Martin to resign voluntarily. Speaker was accused of having met the inappropriate expenditure of budgetary funds and oppose reform reimbursement parliamentarians.
In response, Martin has brought a public apology, but refused to leave his post. In addition, he stated that the proposal of the resignation of the Speaker is not an "essential" because they did not by the government. At the same time, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said earlier that the fate of the Speaker does not deal with the government and is an internal matter for Parliament.
The scandal, which has already been called "the blackest day of the British Parliament," began with the publication in the press the details of what expenses MPs allow themselves to compensate for the expense of taxpayers. In particular it was found that the deputies received from the Treasury funds to buy second homes, expensive repairs of houses, purchase of food for dogs and other costs.
Most of these funds are allocated completely legal way, through the approval of the relevant committee. British parliamentarians on the law are entitled to compensation for certain expenses related to the performance of their duties. But as it turned out, many used the opportunity for illicit enrichment. The scandal was a huge public outcry. Observers note that with the start of the ratings of politicians and parties that they are significantly reduced.
