The election of Iranian President admitted four candidates.

The Council of the Iranian Constitution allowed to participate in the presidential elections of June 12, 2009 four candidates, reported AFP.
They are the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a former prime minister Mir Hossein Mousavi, former Parliament Speaker Mehdi Karroubi and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Corps Mohsen Rezaie.

In early May, Iran was the pre-registration for the election of the president. At the time it had registered 475 people, including 42 women. Candidates of all applicants were considered by the Council of the Constitution, composed of six lawyers and six representatives of the Islamic clergy.
