The opposition presidential candidate, former Prime Minister Mir Hossein Mousavi said that the charity event degrades the dignity of Iranians. Another candidate, former commander of the Corps of the Islamic revolution, Mohsen Rezaei, said that the president should create jobs, rather than giving away money just for the budget.
Previously, as Iran's presidential candidates signed up 475 people. The results of a more rigorous screening, which will implement the Council of the constitution, will be announced on May 20-21. In 2005, out of some thousands of "pre-candidates were approved by the board, only seven people.
